Ordinary Membership is for currently enrolled Curtin University students and is the Society’s primary student membership category.

Ordinary Membership

This option is suitable for students who:

  • are currently enrolled at Curtin University (including incoming students),
  • are members of the Curtin Student Guild (all enrolled Curtin students are members by default),
  • wish to participate fully in CISS activities and governance, and
  • want to build industry connections, leadership experience, and professional skills.

 

Membership Benefits

As an Ordinary Member, you will:

  • receive updates on CISS events, workshops, and activities;
  • have access to member-only and priority events;
  • be eligible to apply for student leadership, project, or consulting opportunities (where applicable);
  • gain exposure to industry insights, career development resources, and networking opportunities; and
  • be part of the broader Curtin Information Systems student community.

Rights & Eligibility

As an Ordinary Member, you are entitled to the full constitutional benefits of membership, including the right to:

  • vote at any General Meeting of the Society; and
  • hold a position on the Committee or as an Officer of the Society,
  • provided you meet the eligibility requirements (including being over 18 where required for some sundowner activities) and are appointed or elected in accordance with CISS governance documents.

Ordinary Members are the only membership category eligible to vote and hold office within CISS.

Payment & Registration

  • Membership is available to Curtin-enrolled students only
  • Membership fee: $5 (inclusive of admin fees)
  • Payment is made online via Stripe through the TidyHQ platform
  • Membership is offered on a rolling-basis from the date of payment
