Interested in technology, data, digital systems, or cybersecurity? The Curtin Information Systems Society (CISS) connects students, graduates, and industry professionals who are passionate about how technology drives modern organisations and society. 

Our community brings together people interested in Information Systems and its related disciplines, including Information Security, Data Analytics & Visualisation, Data Governance & Sustainability, and digital transformation. Through industry networking events, technical workshops, mentoring, and leadership opportunities, CISS helps you build skills, connections, and career confidence.

🎓 Ordinary Membership (Curtin Students) 

Ordinary Membership is for currently enrolled Curtin University students who want to fully participate in CISS activities and governance. 

As an Ordinary Member, you can: 

• Attend all CISS events, workshops, and activities 

• Access member-only and priority events 

• Build leadership experience and professional skills 

• Apply for student leadership, project, or consulting opportunities (where applicable) 

• Connect with industry professionals and peers 

• Vote at General Meetings and nominate for Committee positions 

Ordinary Members are the only membership category eligible to vote and hold office within CISS. 

Pay online: $5 (inclusive of admin fees). Payment is made via Stripe through TidyHQ and your membership activates immediately. 
Pay in person: Want to pay using cash, EFTPOS/PayPass, or a Guild Club Voucher? Register online and select the pay-in-person option (if available). A Committee member will contact you to arrange payment and confirm your membership. 

 

🤝 Associate Membership (Non-Curtin Students) 

Associate Membership is for anyone who is not currently enrolled as a Curtin University student. This includes students from other universities, Curtin College students, staff, graduates, industry professionals, and members of the public. 

As an Associate Member, you can: 

• Join the broader CISS professional community 

• Receive updates on events, activities, and industry opportunities 

• Attend selected networking sessions, panels, and events 

• Stay informed about industry trends and career pathways 

Associate Members are not eligible to vote or hold Committee positions. 

Pay online: Membership is purchased online via Stripe through TidyHQ and operates on a rolling 12-month basis. 
In-person payment and Guild Club Vouchers are not available for this membership category. 

 

🎓 Graduate Membership (Alumni Affiliate) 

Graduate Membership is for Curtin University graduates and former CISS members who wish to remain connected after graduation. 

As a Graduate Member, you can: 

• Stay connected with the CISS alumni and professional network 

• Receive updates on Society initiatives and opportunities 

• Attend selected networking, mentoring, and industry events 

• Share industry insights, mentor students, or contribute as guest speakers 

Graduate Members are not eligible to vote or hold Committee positions. 

Pay online: Membership is purchased online via Stripe through TidyHQ and operates on a rolling basis. 
In-person payments and Guild Club Vouchers are not available for this membership category. 

 

⭐ Recognised Member (Designation – Ordinary Members Only) 

Recognised Member status is a designation awarded to Ordinary Members who demonstrate strong academic and/or industry alignment with Information Systems and active engagement with the Society. 

Recognised Members receive formal acknowledgment by CISS and increased visibility for industry engagement and professional opportunities. This designation does not create a separate membership category and does not provide additional voting or governance rights. Recognition is conferred by the Committee and no additional fees currently apply. 

 

Want to join but pay with cash or use a club voucher? 

This option applies to Ordinary Membership only. 
Register online and select the pay-in-person option (if available). You will be contacted to arrange where and when to complete payment and activate your membership. 

 

What’s a Guild Club Voucher and where can I collect it? 

Curtin-enrolled students can collect up to two $5 Guild Club Vouchers each year from the Curtin Student Guild. 

To collect a voucher: 

• Visit a Guild membership booth near Guild Reception 

• Location: Building 106F, Bentley Campus 

• Bring your Curtin Student ID
